Published on January 01, 2008
The launch of Jigsaw4u's new Anti-Bullying campaign is marked by a DVD produced in-house, which is focused on the key aspects of bullying experienced by young people today. As with all of JIgsaw4u's output, the DVD was created with the full consultation and involvement of young people who have provided the essential details, focus and direction that the DVD follows.
The DVD is of a specialist nature aimed at professional people working with children who as a part of their job, need to better identify and understand the types of bullying that occur and the mechanisms which drive them. It's chapters cover the following subject areas:
- What is it all about?
- Mobile Phone Bullying
- Verbal and Physical Bullying
- The Fear of Bullying
- Sexual Harassment
- How Children and Young People deal with Bullying
- What can you do to stop Bullying?
Bill Hampson, Chief Executive of the Epiphany Trust talked about the combined work between this organisation and Jigsaw4u in Sri Lanka that has been the launchpad for Jigsaw International to be created. Then Jim Harding, ex-CEO of the NSPCC talked movingly about the huge importance of working with the kind of young people that jigsaw4u do and in particular, the fact that unlike most organisations, 'child centred' is a reality with Jigsaw4u, not just a media-friendly term! Finally Anne Davies, CEO of Jigsaw4u talked about the experiences and motivations that lead to Jigsaw4u existing in the first place as well as investing great confidence in what the future will hold for the charity.
