Published on July 07, 2009
Mitcham-based charity Jigsaw4u is organising a wide variety of summer activities for children and youngsters with disabilities from schools in Sutton, funded by Sutton Disability Partnership.
Lizzy Webster and Sue Clark, Jigsaw4u's Children's Participation Workers, who organise the events, say "The activities were chosen as a result of us asking youngsters for ideas when we visited specialist schools and units."
On Tuesday August 4, there's a day trip visit to Laverstoke Park Farm, Overton, Hampshire, to see pigs, cows, buffalo and other animals in their natural environment and learn about organic farming methods.
On Thursday August 6, workshops will include football, gear up bikes, drumming and drama with Wimbledon's Polka Theatre. On Wednesday August 26, there’s an activity day at The Phoenix Centre, with workshops in the Sensory Room, football, dance and bouncy castle.
