Jigsaw4u appoints Participation Worker for Children & Young People

Published on February 17, 2010

Paul Henthorne has been appointed by the Sutton and Merton office of children’s charity Jigsaw4u as Participation Worker for Children and Young People, with a primary focus on disabled children and young people.

He will be setting up an Advisory Group of children and young people to include children and young people from all of Jigsaw4u's different services. This group will help guide Jigsaw4u as an organisation. They will focus on areas such as helping to improve the web site, redesigning leaflets and interviewing potential staff members.

Paul is also running the relaunched "Can We (Talk2)" participation service at Jigsaw4u in partnership with the Sutton Disability Partnership. The service enables disabled children and young people in Sutton to be part of the consultation and decision making process. He would welcome contacts from young people who would like to be part of these groups.

Paul has worked with disabled children for over 12 years. He still works as a one to one support worker for disabled children and young people in Surrey, contracted by Surrey County Council.

Paul is also trustee of charity Whitgift SNAP that provides holiday activity projects for disabled children and young people.

He is captain and committee member of a hockey team and plays snooker.
