Inspirational Women in Business Award

A new competition to reward 'inspirational' businesswomen is being launched by the national children's charity, Jigsaw4u. A panel of influential women, including Caroline Stanbury and Victoria Christian, will judge the entries and winners are to be awarded in the House of Lords.

'This competition seeks to recognise women whose actions and thoughts have significantly contributed to the world around them,' said Anne Davies, Chief Executive of Jigsaw4u. 'Whether it be through their originality of thought, their exceptional management skills or how they have helped their community, the Inspirational Womens Awards competition will highlight how these women have gone beyond the call of duty to make a difference.'

Caroline Stanbury, founder of The Gift-library.com, started her company in the midst of the recession and has grown it into a successful and award-winning e-business offering luxury gifts. Her determination to remain involved on a personal level, constantly reviewing her customers bespoke needs and tastes has ensured an ongoing reputation for delivering excellence. 'I am delighted to be asked to judge. I know from my own experience that you are only as good as the team behind you and I totally support the idea of recognising and rewarding those that inspire others.'

Victoria Christian, daughter of and head of PR for the acclaimed Clive Christian added, 'I am proud to have been invited to sit as a judge on the Inspirational Women Awards. As a woman in business I fully appreciate the need to recognise women who have achieved above and beyond their goals, especially those who inspire their peers and upcoming generations alike. It is an honour for me to be in a position to help shine a spotlight on these formidable females.'

To qualify for entry, women will have to have shown one or more of the following: originality of thought, exceptional management skills, overcome great odds or worked above and beyond the call of duty or helped support a local charity.

Deadline for entries to the competition are 14th February. Entry criteria and form can be found below.
