Fundraising Success!!

Jigsaw4u’s first ever fundraising ball went off in spectacular fashion, raising £45,000 to support children affected by suicide and sudden death.

On 10th February, at The Selsdon Park Hotel in Croydon, a team of amazing volunteers and Jigsaw4u staff pulled off a Valentine’s extravaganza to raise money for our Bereavement Project. It was all systems go from 12pm getting the tables dress, the chairs covered and the champagne poured. 240 people walked passed the golden cherubs, through the casino and down the red carpet into our beautiful Valentine’s themed ballroom to enjoy a night of great food, an array of musical talent and of course….raising money!

The lucky winners of the main auction items are now enjoying their holiday on the sunseeker yacht, a weekend break at a ski chalet or a farmhouse, an in-house dining experience…plus much more! And it is thanks to the generosity of all of the party-goers – the auction winners in particular – that helped us to smash our £12,000 target. Between our raffles, live auction and silent auction the total amount raised for Jigsaw4u was £45,000 – nearly 4 times our original target, and far beyond anything we could have ever expected.

The night wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible volunteer event coordinator, Angela, who put the entire night together. Angela was helped by her team of fantastic volunteers who made sure that everything ran like clockwork on the night – and boy did we have a lot to fit in! Thanks to the amazing organization, everyone had a great night and have already said they can’t wait for next year!

The Bereavement Team have experienced a notable increase in referrals for children affected by suicide in the last couple of years, you can hear Bethany’s story below about the support she received after her Dad took his own life in 2012. With this money we will be able to support more children like Bethany and others who suffer the sudden loss of a loved one.
