Jigsaw4u Volunteer Recognised at Team London 2016 Volunteering Award

One of Jigsaw4u’s volunteers, Sarah, has been shortlisted for an award at the Team London 2016 Volunteering Awards.

Sarah is an Independent Visitor who provides support and befriending to a young person who is looked after in care. Sarah has been shortlisted in the Mentoring and Coaching category of the awards and we all hope that her amazing work and contribution to Jigsaw4u is recognised at this fantastic event.

The ceremony will take place at City Hall, it is said to be “a wonderful event celebrating some of the amazing volunteering that takes place in our City.” The organisers says “every year it gets harder to shortlist” so we’d like to congratulate Sarah again for being chosen as a shortlisted nominee.

Sarah has done some amazing work as an Independent Visitor and will be telling her story about that work at our AGM on Wednesday 19th October, 4pm at Madeira House in Mitcham. Please feel free to come along to our AGM to hear more stories from young people and professionals we work with and to meet our wonderful team of staff and volunteers. As well as Sarah’s story we’ll be hearing from Yousef, our fantastic mentee who had the amazing opportunity of tossing the coin at the Gentlemen’s Singles Final at Wimbledon this year. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.

Hopefully by the 31st October, when the awards come around, we’ll have even more good news to finish off 2016 and look forward to our 20th anniversary next year.
