Fundraising makes a lasting difference for those we support

Fundraising is a vital element of what helps Jigsaw4u maintain its high standard of service-delivery for children, young people and families facing complex social and emotional difficulties across South West London.

Every year we benefit from amazing people, groups, businesses and schools who think of creative ways to raise money for us. Whether or not you are an individual taking part in an event, or as a group, your fundraising support has the power to make a massive difference for those we support.

Get inspired: Ways to Fundraise for Jigsaw4u

There are countless ways to fundraise, but the best approach always depends on you. We have some ideas of what other fundraisers have done over the years to fundraise for us.

Marathon, Walkathon or Triathalon

This could be a walkathon, marathon, cycle race, or any other activity where people can pledge donations for every mile or lap completed.

Hold a Raffle or Auction

One of the best ways to bring people together to fundraise would be through a Raffle, Auction, or both!

Items are donated by individuals, organisations or businesses and are raffled off as prizes. Special items could be held back for an auction at the end which could add a lot of excitement to the occasion.

Challenge Events

Perhaps you’re the adventurous type or interested in trying something new?

Challenge yourself and take part in a challenge event like running a 10k, giving up sugar for a month, and much more. You can then invite people to sponsor you to complete it.

Organise a Concert or Performance

This could involve organizing a concert or other performance where proceeds go towards Jigsaw4u.

You could promote younger talent at the event who could gain some invaluable on-stage experience for their performances moving forward, giving a boost to their confidence on stage.

It can be anything from music, magic tricks, comedy, poetry or spoken word. The possibilities are endless when planning these sorts of events which can be a lot of fun for all involved.

Wedding or Funeral Collections

Sometimes we have those celebrating their weddings, or honouring the memory of a loved one through a collection which is made by families and friends who are attending. This can be to substitute the cost of gifts or flowers.

Wedding collections can easily be set up on Just Giving by visiting our profile and selecting to ‘Fundraise for us’. Let us know if you need any help in setting this up, we’d be happy to help.

For Funeral collections, Jigsaw4u is discoverable on Memory Giving which is a platform commonly used by Funeral services across the UK. Please let your Funeral Director know if you would like to choose Jigsaw4u as your selected cause to support.

You can also choose to do this on Just Giving as well. Either option is very similar in terms of letting the platform handle and process donations, automatically sending funds raised to Jigsaw4u.

Alternatively, you can donate via Enthuse or speak with us about donating through a bank transfer or by sending us a cheque.

Whatever you can think of!

There are countless ways to fundraise for us, and a simple idea could have the power to turn heads and gain widespread support as you fundraise.

It’s important to remember that fundraising doesn’t have to be done solo. Working as part of a team can make the process much easier and more effective. Fundraising is a collaborative effort and every contribution counts, no matter how small.

Whether or not you are organising an event, or posting on social media about your efforts so far, you’re making a huge difference.

Donation Boxes

Perhaps you work in a shop or local service that can have a Jigsaw4u donation box for customers to donate into or you will be taking part in an event where you can raise donations for Jigsaw4u.

Simple Steps to Fundraising Success

1. Planning your Fundraising

Hopefully, the above ideas helped inspire you in taking the first steps of your fundraising journey.

If not, we can help you plan your fundraising. You might even have your own ideas and would like to have a chat to see how it can be made possible. You can contact us below.

2. Organising your event

If you’re looking to put an event together then we would encourage you to keep it cost-effective and as low budget as possible.

You can do this by collecting donated raffle prizes, enlisting the skills of friends and families to come and help when it comes to catering or entertainment. Asking for charitable rates from suppliers or sponsorship from companies can also help with costs.

3. Spreading the word

Make a list of everyone you know, people they may know and think of the best way for them to get involved or to come along to your event.

With attendance to your event, this may encourage them to help sponsor your fundraising. Make sure you share the story of what you will be doing and why you’re fundraising for us. Making it as genuine as possible makes it relatable and gets people onboard.

You can use social media to reach a wider network of people. All platforms that we regularly use like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn are great tools for gaining supporters who may be interested in your progress or planning, depending on the event.

4. Double your donation: Employer Matching

It’s possible that your employer could help your fundraising by matching your donation, doubling your money with your company possibly being eligible for a tax deduction for a charitable donation.

Double the donation equals double the difference to our children, young people and families.

5. Giving thanks to your supporters

It’s always important to share the successes of your fundraising, but it’s equally important to share your gratitude to those who supported you.

We love to say thank you to our supporters, so send us your photos and details of companies who have donated or particular people you would like to thank and we can do this via our social media and website.

Thanking people makes them feel valued and is the best way to encourage people to help you again in the future.
